Children & Youth 2025

Over the past six months, Maren, Jimmy, and Travis have been engaged in a process of reimagining our approach to youth and family ministry. We are delighted to share that we are ready to test-drive aspects of our new vision over the spring and summer.

Check our calendar of events for the most up-to-date happenings.

We will continue to offer beloved, proven programming (Kids Night Out, Family Worship, Children's' Chapel, Confirmation Classes, seasonal offerings) and we are excited to launch new initiatives designed to support the spiritual health of 5th-12th graders in the St. John's and wider Jackson community.

Seasonal Offerings

Lenten Dinners: April 2, 9, Hansen Hall, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. As part of our regular Lent programming, Travis and his team will take students for age-specific programming designed to complement the adult formation offerings. Childcare for smaller kiddos provided.

O Brave New World: A Workshop for Middle School Students and Families, May 7, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Hansen Hall. The transition from elementary school to middle school is big. Moving from a single class to a rotating class model, navigating interactions with different age groups with individuals at vastly different developmental stages, adjusting to increased autonomy and independence. You and your kids are invited to join Travis, Jimmy, and a team of mental health professionals for a workshop on cultivating self-love, self-trust, and resilience in this time of transition. For rising and present middle schoolers and their families.

New Initiatives

Holy Donut!: 2nd and 4th Sundays, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 5th - 8th graders hang after church! We'll spend time talking over donuts — and have a go at making our very own donuts (with a fancy new machine), which we'll deliver to local nonprofits. Join just for the hang, or stay for the donut making and delivery. And when it comes to life, "focus on the wholeness, not the holes" ;)

R.A.D. Night Out: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Pinky G's (Radically inclusive. Awesomely connected. Divinely loved.) High Schoolers join Travis and Maren for a fun time of small group connection. We'll talk about spirituality, and just life in general, over pizza. Bring a couple friends!
