Nkosi Kakhulu

Serving this summer at The Chapel of the Transfiguration, I was deeply moved, recalling the scripture from the First Book of Kings, chapter nineteen, verses eleven. Here, the Lord reveals Himself to Elijah on the mountain, not in grandeur but in a gentle whisper, a subtle yet profound presence. My time at The Chapel, the Transfiguration, has been a journey of similar revelations. Whether it was hiking around Jenny Lake, ascending towards Corbet's Cabin, cycling through the heart of downtown, savoring moments at Liberty Burger, cherishing Mondays on Moose, my first ever Cowboy hat or exchanging stories with the many souls I encountered – every moment was a testament to God's quiet yet powerful presence.

My middle child found joy and growth at St. John's service week camp, a sight that filled my heart with awe. Observing the steadfast faithfulness of this community, dedicated to welcoming neighbors and visitors in Jackson, WY, has been a profound experience. My heart swells with gratitude for the wonderful people of St. John's, for your exceptional rector, and for all the staff who embody a spirit of welcoming that enriches Jackson. What a blessing it has been to pray alongside the many wonderful, faithful people who visited the Chapel this summer.

Accompanying this message is an image capturing a moment of joy – enjoying Nutella Waffles at Corbet's Cabin. My heart is full of gratitude for every gesture of kindness we've received during this blessed journey. Thank you, Nkosi Kakhulu. (Thank you very much, Xhosa language).
