Pete Karns is a native and lifelong resident of Jackson Hole. He was born in 1945 in St. John's Hospital, which was a log building that was located where St. John's Episcopal church now stands. Pete is married to his wife, Jeanine and they are members of St. John's Episcopal Church. They have three children and six grandchildren. Pete is a retired real estate broker and spends his time skiing, fishing, biking, hiking and as an artist where he creates art in his newfound hobby of sand art carving at his winter home in Mesquite, Nevada
Pete is also a closet poet. He has written many poems over the years, most of which never see the light of day. Most of his poems are in the Cowboy Poetry style and are usually about friends of his or are about situations that he is involved in. They usually tell a story and sometimes attempt to contain some light humor. The Red Door Poetry program is Pete's first venture into presenting his poems in public.
